About the event

Atlantic Theatre Arts is celebrating International Women’s Day with a performance of scenes from The Revolutionists. Written by widely produced feminist playwright Lauren Gunderson, the play imagines a meeting of Olympe de Gouges, Charlotte Corday, and Marie Antoinette before they all lost their heads. Her witty, genuine, and self-aware work considers issues that have not changed in a few hundred years, and newly captures the perspective of women in “herstory”.

The evening will offer performances by members of the ATA Repertory Company with a talkback about the feminine aesthetic in theatre led by scholar Jessica Carleton. This event will serve as a launch for funding a full production of the play to be produced in Paris.
