TRAINING
Education is the foundation of the work at Atlantic Theatre Arts. It is important to have an informed performers, an informed audience, and to educate and inspire the next generation of artists and enthusiasts of the Arts. The classes offered at ATA reflect this idea, with opportunities for all ages and levels of interest.
ATA BROADWAY STUDIO
Atlantic Theatre Arts is excited to offer a performing arts laboratory that focuses on versatility by fostering an exchange of artistic values and knowledge through performance oriented working sessions. Our goal is to work together with joy and diligence in order to grow, play, and share with other participants and a live audience. Much like the style of "The Actors Studio", members participate in group exercises, individual and ensemble songs and scenes throughout the year to deepen the work.
MASTERCLASSES/WORKSHOPS
With a large network in the Anglophone performing world, ATA brings a variety of teaching artists to share sophisticated and specific knowledge to help grow and refine performers of all levels. These short-term classes can range from one day to week-long workshops and are given on subjects such as song interpretation, vocal techniques, physical theatre, clown, improvisation, directing, and voice-over acting.
PLAYWRITING
Our “Let’s Play”, a playwriting workshops and courses are led by acclaimed guest artist Beth Blatt! These workshops are for both Theatre and Musical Theatre, and are open to beginning and experienced writers, with space to start a new project or develop an existing one.
STAGE COMBAT
Physical training is vital to the life of any performer. Classes in stage combat are not only physically challenging, but offer longevity in an actor’s career. Actor’s are constantly asked to perform physical tasks and portray extreme situations that require specific knowledge. Telling the story of physical confrontation is very different from reality, and Atlantic Theatre Arts is proud to offer classes on this important subject. We aim to help actors feel empowered, understand safe practices, tell incredible stories, and have fun learning a physical skill!
PRIVATE LESSONS AND COACHINGS
ATA provides a roster of experienced teachers in Paris for private voice and acting lessons. As this work is done on an individual basis, frequency and depth of study can be organized between performers and teachers. Some may wish to take voice lessons from the beginning to grow a new skill set. Other performers might need to coach specific material for a big audition! Appointments are scheduled according to availability.
