Let's Play: Playwriting Workshop
Writing workshop for theatre and musical theatre, for beginner and experienced writers!
Service Description
We are overjoyed to announce “Let’s Play”, a brand-new playwriting workshop led by acclaimed guest artist Beth Blatt! Do you write plays? Or writing lyrics or a book for musical theater? Or have you thought about writing for the theater? Either way - this 3-hour workshop on playwriting is for you. We will: - cover the major principles of the craft - put those techniques to use on a piece of your own - share the results (if you wish) You’ll get a chance to incorporate the tactics we discuss – either on a new piece or an existing one – and even hear that work out loud. Those who are interested in scriptwriting – for the screen – will find the class equally useful. The session will be tailored to the needs and interests of the participants. It will be a fun and supportive room! About the instructor: Beth Blatt’s award-winning plays, musicals and songs have been performed at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the UN, in New York City, across the US, Asia and Europe. Most recently, she was an artist-in-residence at the Château de La Napoule, for which she created an immersive play with music inspired by its artist-owners. She is also the founder of Hope Sings, which creates original songs inspired by success stories from charities that support women. Projects include the Anthem for UN Women.
