Acting & Text Study

Service Description
An opening encounter with Shakespeare through the body and the breath, not the page. Drawing directly on ATA's own production work — with a cast member from the company's current Macbeth on hand to bring rehearsal-room practice into the room — this workshop moves between text analysis, verse-speaking, and scene work to demystify the language and locate the impulse underneath it. Participants leave with practical tools for approaching any Shakespearean text, and a firsthand sense of how a professional company builds a production from the text up. What to expect: Text study & performance What to bring: A monologue of your choice, or you can be assigned a scene in advance of the workshop. Performance text must be memorized
